Jamii Outreach Ministries Kenya was   registered under the Societies Act in November 2004.  The initial purpose was to minister to the needs of Families living in the Slums of Nairobi.  

As the needs grew  JOMK  established Jamii Children Centre in  Kibera  to cater for Orphaned and Needy Children in the sprawling Kibera Slums in Nairobi,   Kibera is still ranked as the largest slum in Kenya and one of the largest in the African Continent.
